Mike Coffey - reported that Marc Elkins will discuss “tent dropping” incidents at the PLC meeting on 4/8/02
Mike Coffey - congratulated all who made the weekend campout go so well. Larry Stocker got phone calls from four mustang parents saying it was an outstanding experience for their sons.
Mike Coffey - “Mustang draft” will happen prior to next campout to divide them into current patrols. If you are interested in attending contact Marc Elkins.
Greg Spies – Bartle registration on 4/8/02
Bill Brady – intends to have scouts current on bills prior to Bartle
Gary Bernhardt – making a list so scouts and dads will know if health forms are current
Greg Kent – Eagle mentor program mostly going well – scouts must turn in Eagle projects by 9/02 to be eligible for 11/02 Eagle Court of Honor
Joe Johnson – 4/21 is upcoming Eagle Court of Honor at 2:00 at BVNW – 6 new Eagles
Mike Coffey – drafted a proposed policy regarding scouts driving to and from scouting events – he will rewrite it per suggestions from the meeting – we voted to accept this as a policy for the troop
Phil Gaughan – Highway Cleanup coming up on Sat AM on 5/11 – Doug Cusick will work toward taking over for Phil - appreciation was expressed to Phil by the committee for all the hard work he has done on this over the years
Bill Brady – reported on financial statement and asked again that people pay their bills
Chris D’Adamo – reported we paid $2500 for new tents
Gary Bernhardt – 38 new scouts – 138 total in the troop - our new charter was turned in – Leawood Rotary officially is our chartering organization
Allan Schoof – truck report - $350-400 will be spent on new springs
Larry Stocker – reported on a truck that might be donated to the troop – we should be receiving new camping tables this week
Rusty Howell – 70 scouts and 20 dads are signed up for Train Campout in Baldwin City, Ks – cooking by patrols – Old Goats will cook for all adults – for scouts with the RR merit badge already there will be an alternate activity such as a tour of Baker University
Herb Strain – distributed new shoulder patches for registered leaders to replace old ones
Greg Kent – asked for volunteers for Eagle Board of Review on 4/18
Greg Spies – will have a campout for new scouts to help with prerequisites for Bartle merit badges (June 8-9)
Herb Strain – on 4/22 CPR will be offered to the whole troop at the First Aid MB class at 5:30PM – certain merit badges require CPR instruction every 12 months
Herb Strain – addressed possibly writing statement on “no alcohol” in our policies – Mike Coffey will take care of this
Larry Stocker – has both green and black shirts for any Adult (or scout) – red ones are being ordered for leaders.
Greg Spies – scuba trip will be 7/26-8/1, 2003 - $200 deposit per person required – scouts must be age 14 or older – Midwest Aquatics is handling arrangements - ~$1100 certified and ~$1300 uncertified – deposits to be collected by Greg Spies
