Outdoor Activities (Camping/Grubmaster) – Scott Brown/Chris Pfeffer

April Campout – Katy Trail – April 13, 14 & 15

                           Weather cooperated for bike activity.

Very windy during the night.  Lots of rain Friday night.

Concern:  parents getting over-anxious regarding the weather.

What is the process for severe weather?  Reviewed process.

What type of communication is needed when severe weather is threatening.

Troop relies on National Weather Service for updates and forecast.

Communicate to the troop that leadership has done severe weather training.

Going forward, Campmaster will put link to NOAA for weather for the city closest to where we’re camping so parents can view the weather reports leadership is using

May Campout – Canoeing? Location?

At Riverfront first weekend in May.  (Riverfront has capacity for our size).

We dump 5-6 canoes each year.  Plan to show a video for instruction at troop meeting

Also show the video on Friday night of campout.

June Campout

                           At Mr. Spies’ farm.

August - Picnic – August 19 @ Sharp’s Farm?

Will this date work OK?  Yes. Earlier is better – last year’s late date wasn’t ideal.

Need a backup plan in case there are issues with this venue for any reason.

Herb – please add to calendar for August

Fall Shooter Safety

Cannot be at Mr. Illig’s farm due to ongoing construction.

Will need to find another venue and perhaps another focus for this campout.

Per Garrett Shropshire - New methodology for campout planning for next year.

Have a plan ready for finalization at Bartle so the year could be set up front.
