campout went well. Up and out early this
morning.
Will review the campout at PLC on 4/16. At PSMS.

April Campout – Katy Trail – April 13, 14 & 15
Weather
cooperated for bike activity.
Very windy during the night. Lots of rain Friday night.
Concern: parents getting over-anxious regarding the
weather.
What
is the process for severe weather? Reviewed process.
What
type of communication is needed when severe weather is threatening.
Troop
relies on National Weather Service for updates and forecast.
Communicate
to the troop that leadership has done severe weather training.
Going forward,
Campmaster will put link to NOAA for weather for the city closest to where
we’re camping so parents can view the weather reports leadership is using
May Campout – Canoeing? Location?
At Riverfront first weekend in May. (Riverfront has capacity for our size).
We dump 5-6 canoes each year. Plan to show a video for instruction at troop
meeting
Also
show the video on Friday night of campout.
June Campout
At Mr. Spies’ farm.
August - Picnic – August 19 @ Sharp’s Farm?
Will
this date work OK? Yes. Earlier is
better – last year’s late date wasn’t ideal.
Need a backup plan in case there are
issues with this venue for any reason.
Herb – please add to calendar for

Shooter Safety
Cannot be at Mr. Illig’s farm due to
ongoing construction.
Will need to find another venue and perhaps another focus for this
campout.
Per Garrett Shropshire - New methodology for campout planning for next
year.
Have a
plan ready for finalization at Bartle so the year could be set up front.
Bartle

By Tuesday, troop will be
turning in our roster for Bartle.

issues of patrols without tents – older scouts showing up w/o a tent.
Need
to get more participation from parents driving the troop truck.
Membership

33 new scouts and 26 new adults.

recruitment – 2-3 people to provide boots on the ground?
Various
functions: could these be delegated to
several people who are on the team?
When should this
be put in place? Now.
Need people as
welcome ambassadors at campouts, etc.

Monday 4/9 was deadline to
turn in Leadership cards.
105 scouts in
leadership; 65 earned full credit; 22 didn’t get it. 18 didn’t need.
Monday 4/6 – will speak
to the new parents regarding Leadership.
New parents
would like to have Adult Leadership introduce themselves.
New parents
could shadow an existing leadership position.
Advancement

weekend.

Gibson and Tran
are 5-6 months away from age cut-off.
