Ellis summer camp went very well we received the National Camping Award and
the HOAC Camping Award he read a thank you note from a camper- he thanked
Herb for putting so much of the summer camp together for us

Ornduff discussed the experience of our troops crews at Double-H Camp it
was very positive for our 8 adults and 10 scouts

there will be a slide show of all our troops summer experiences at the 8/30
troop meeting

Scoutmaster update the new SPL was selected at summer camp they are
discussing who his ASPLs will be 3 of 4 have already agreed to serve he
felt the scouts who stood in as leaders at camp did a commendable job he will
continue this during the year

outdoor activities trying to put the scouts issues into reality a group
of older scouts discussed this at camp

discussion but no objections to the plan for the year. Rick Isham will work on the specifics

Shooter Safety Campout only 2 meetings prior to the campout discussed
options for targets since the scouts requested some different types there
will be prone and sitting stations would like committee to help with various
aspects including new prizes will put out an email asking for assistance and
specific types of firearms will need someone to lead the archery on 9/13 we
will have a speaker to address safety rules will try to offer opportunity for
scouts to complete Archery Merit Badge for those who did not finish it at Bartle
he will buy some ear protection for the Troop so we dont have to borrow them
in the future

2004-2005 High Adventure discussed a variety of options Jamboree, Bartle
and two others will be available for next summer we will explore Blackbeards,
Gila, Packard, Double-H and any other suggestions

Jamboree there will be a Council contingent not many have expressed an
interest yet it will be at Fort A P Hill in Virginia with a side trip to
Washington D C for a total of 10 to 14 days

Bryce Wells will also be looking into a canoe trip down the Buffalo River
that will be in addition to that months campout

Treasurers Report good cash balance - $5000 still owed from scouts better
than last year

everyone needs to reenroll and mark Troop 10 as where they want their 1% to go
he will announce this and make forms available at the picnic and Court of
Honor

greenery sales similar to last year packets will be handed out in early
October each scout must sell $80 to bring in $40 for the troop or must do a
$40 buyout above $80 in sales will give scouts a credit toward camping
expenses

Strain Bartle Treasurer Report we are doing well and paying off all bills
in October we will be participating in the Bartle lottery for next summer

Reynolds 37 rank advancements at Bartle Tom Wineland got all the
conferences together they have an improvement plan for next year

Vogliardo anticipates 6-7 for next Eagle Court 2 have already received
their Eagle

9/29 is the date life scouts must have things completed to be included in the
next Eagle Court

OA Rob Wheeler will be our new OA Adult Leader he is wanting some other
adult leaders to help with Section Conclave in Springfield on October 6-8 we
will be encouraging scouts to participate in this the Ozark Trails Council
who is sponsoring this has a dual OA/Mic-O-Say program also there will be a
Fall Fellowship at Naish

emphasized the need for more adult leadership for OA to encourage the scouts
with this program which is national and international in nature

Two of the OA events will now count as campouts

Mic-O-Say 3 paint elevations, 11 new warriors, 7 honorary warriors, 15 new
braves and 24 foxmen at Bartle

Troop picnic on 8/21 flyer is on the website at Stu Sharps farm please
bring lawn chairs and side dishes and desserts there will be some recognition
given to adult leaders pork shoulder and turkey will be the main courses
setup will begin around 2 PM Rusty Howell will need helpers with the cooking
please RSVP to Herb Strain by 8/16 so we can get a headcount

him if you are interested in taking on any roles for the troop

discussed adult training for leaders Trailhead has various offerings and he
will offer things specifically for our troop

Roundtable discussed Camporee, Powderhorn, adult training

we would buy non-hiking equipment

Easley asked if we could provide a flag ceremony for a 10/5 meeting with a
Congressional Medal of Honor winner, Lt Col Leo Thorness who will do a
presentation on Leadership and Patriotism

discussed how well summer camp went for 1st year scouts and their
advancement
