Troop 10 Committee Meeting

Meeting Chair           Jeff Muchow

John Martin has volunteered to coordinate outside merit badge programs, assuming the duty from Keith Shuttleworth. Jeremy Rutledge recently relocated from Austin, TX and will be an assistant Advancement Chair to Brent Reynolds.  Thanks to Jim Vano for his work on BOR.  Brent Rynolds will be recognized for advancement chair and Clarence Krantz and Frank Weilding are also being recognized at the Trailhead District Recognition Dinner on January 27, 2007.  Court of Honor Monday night and a plaque will be presented to Micheal Kahn for donating the truck.  Thanked Greg Williams for his work with 2010.  Greg is looking for volunteers and Terry Ellis will become his assistant.  Need help with Grubmaster.  Leroy Kimminau will become the Assistant Equipment.

Court of Honor on Monday Night.

 

Clarence Krantz

Dec 21 – 2 Eagle Boards, volunteers needed.  Dan Schorgl, Rick Korvick, and John McCabe volunteered for the boards.  Trey Leilghtner and Bret Babage are the two candidates.  There will probably 11-12 at the spring Court of Honor.

 

Treasurer                  Kevin O’Farrell

$38,000 total in Troop 10 account.  $8,500 for Bartle, $9,000 for Philmont and Greenery has not been paid yet.  Registration will be billed early.

  

Outdoor                     John McCabe and Tom Baker

January Campout is at Snowcreek on Jan 12th and 13th.  Troop 10 is sharing the campsite with a troop from Columbia, MO.  No fires on the ground.  Half barrels are allowed and stoves will be used for breakfast.  Skiing or snow sport merit badge will be offered by the staff.

Feb campout in Luciene, KS with further plans in progress.

Bartle Update, 101 scouts and 67 adults plus mustangs as of this date.

Grub Master              Rick Korvick, Denise Holt

Fundraising               Alan Myers

All greenery delivered or picked up - $8,758 sold and profit = $2,742 plus buyouts = $6,460. Trophy will be presented to the high sales  scout on Monday night.

 

 

Equipment                 Chuck Gibson

Truck has been registered and we did get tax exemption.  Thanks to Leroy Kimminau for enduring the time-consuming registration process.

 

Philmont Update       Jeff Muchow

Troop 10 crew leaders have been assigned and we have 26 participating from troop 10.  Glen Alexander is putting together a crew of 10 by December 18th. Need more if anyone has others interested.  Troop 10 needs scouts, not adults, to balance our ratio of adults to scouts.

 

Membership              Greg Spies

Webelos Night Report -a Good turnout 22 boys and 26 adults.  One of the boys has already transferred over.  Next Webelos Night January 29, 2007.  One slide show for scouts and adults agreed on.

 

Honor Camping         Dave Contag - O/A

One OA event in is planed for January.  January 6th is the OA Banquet.

 

Adult Training           Blake Williams

Check January calendar.  Most adult training programs will resume in March 2007.

 

 

 

Community Service  Deb Dellinger

Deb is developing a list for service events. Troop 10 is looking for volunteers for Salvation Army Bell Ringers.

 

Round Table             Jeff Muchow

District is looking for Day camp program – need a day camp director and program director.  The camp is June 18-21.  We will announce at the meeting on Monday.  Jeff has the job description if anyone is interested.  Wood badge will be offered next September.  Two weeks of camping to get the badge.  Jan 20, 8:30am – 4:30pm training offered, will cost $20.  Jan 27 is the District Dinner.  Please register online.  Cost is $22.

New Business:

·        Eagle Court of Honor: Sunday vs. Saturday – Tabled to January per Jeff

·        Merit Badge Forum - January 20th  - John Martin will take the lead.

·        Scout Ft. Reilly, Manhattan, KS on January 20th.  This conflicts with the Merit Badge Forum.  May try to obtain a date later next spring.

 

·        Fall Eagle Court        Thanks to Chuck Luchen, Tracy Thomas and Denise Holt.

 

·        Discussed a new tradition of retiring us flags at troop 10 camp fires.

 

Jeff Muchow adjourned the meeting at 4:55 p.m.
