Blake Williams called the meeting to order at 6:00pm

 

-          Welcome & Introductions.  Attendees:  Blake Williams, Greg Spies, Brian Leeper, John Martin, Chick Atwell (Leawood Lions Club), Elaine Navickas, Tim Navickas, Rob Baker, Julia Day, Todd Martz, Barbara Koziol, Scott Brown, Chuck Gibson, Jim Leeper.

-          In search of adult volunteers for:   Adult Recognition Coordinator & Internal Merit Badge Coordinator.

-          Annual Adult Recognition Dinner - January 23, 2010

-          January Meeting to be held at a different location - TBA.

 

Sponsor - Leawood Lions Club/Chick Atwell

-          Need more scout/adult volunteers for Holiday Bell Ringing Service Project.

-          Two of six locations:  HyVee @ 123rd St. and WalMart at 119th St.  John Ahart to coordinate.

 

Scoutmaster Report - SM/Greg Spies & SPL/Brian Leeper

-          Good campout this past weekend.  Highlights:  Zip Line & Camp Snacks - Donuts, Egg Rolls, Crab Rangoon.

Lots of advancement - SM Conferences & BOR.  Movie Night w/ Popcorn.

-          Need to encourage new scouts to invite guests to upcoming campouts or events.

-          Address “Bulling” issue with new scouts as part of 1st Year Scout Program - J. Wasco.

-          Troop Meeting - Mon. Dec. 7:  Different Location - OTMS.  Agenda & Activities:  PLC & Advancement Records.

-          Troop Meeting - Mon. Dec. 14:  PSMS - Court of Honor

-          Brian Leeper to resign and transfer position to new SPL on February 1, 2010.

 

Outdoor Activities Report - Camping/Scott Brown & Grubmaster/David Corley

-          January 22-23          Ski Campout / Snow Creek               Booked

-          February 20-21        Fire ‘n Ice / Spies Farm                    Booked

Equipment Report - Chuck Gibson

-          Tent Inventory - 62    49-Assigned to Patrols, 5-Questionable Condition, 8-On-Truck (New Scouts)

-          Discussion:  Patrol QM to track monthly.  Patrol responsible for care & condition.  On-going problem.

-          Mandatory Tent Check-In - Troop Meeting-Troop Meeting - Mon. Feb. 1, 2010

-          May need to purchase a few new tents for new scouts who will be joining troop in 2010.

 

Membership Report - Todd Martz

-          13 new Webelos have already cross-over and joined the troop in past few weeks/months.

-          Anticipate 30-40 total in Mustang class of new 1st Year Scouts.  Possibly as high as 50.

 

Advancement Report - Scout thru Life/Brent Reynolds & Eagle/Tracy Thomas

-          Court of Honor         Monday December 14.

-          Spring Eagle Court   Anticipate 20+ should advance.

-          Leawood Lions Club - Salvation Army Holiday Bell Ringing - Still need (2) shifts covered with volunteers.

 

Trailhead District Meeting Report - Scout Bower

-          Over the next 2 years, ALL Adult Leaders must complete & comply with all Official BSA Adult Leadership Training.

-          It’s become evident that T-10 must assume a lead role in this process.
