                   Quartermaster – 2 adults have volunteered; need 2 more

                   Prairie Star Elementary Unit Commissioner

                   Chuck Gibson has expressed a desire to transition out of his current role as Quartermaster

                   12/5 meeting to focus on re-planning for canceled campout

                   New location – Blue & Grey Park in Lone Jack

                   Museum will be open, however 5 miles away – will require vehicles

                   Similar activities as planned at Landahl

            Tents

                   Eureka is has announced they’re discontinuing our current scout tent

                   One outfitter still has plenty of inventory

                   Discussion regarding the need to find a new tent type now or wait

                   Troop typically orders 7 to 14 tents a year – needs 7 new tents now

                   Committee voted to order 7 now and if Eureka decides not to continue manufacturing current model to order an additional 7 to give the troop 2 years to find a new design

 

Membership – Renee Andrews

            Lakewood Elementary – although outside boundaries – we will get some recruits

            Also some crossovers from Blue River

            Committee, Renee and Jim Wasko agreed that Feb. 13 will be the official start date for Mustangs in 2012

 

Advancement – Julia Day

            Regular COH Monday, December 12

                   Short program as there are not many advancements or merit badge awards

                   Greenery and Pop Corn sales leaders will be recognized

                   FOS will give a presentation too – Kay McCarthy

            Life to Eagle – Lane Christianson

                   Revised regulations for composition of Boards of Review – all, not just Eagle

                   No scoutmasters – can stand as advocates

                   Committee members or adults in the community

 

Scout Leadership – Bob Rohlf

            Discussion about scouts who are approaching timing issues with their leadership requirements

            Also discussion around how often scouts need to reminded that their leadership paperwork is due

            Although recent results indicate a dropping off in # of scouts earning leaders, committee agreed that communication at 2 week intervals was sufficient

                   Email and announcement 2 weeks prior to being due

                   Email and announcement when paperwork due for full credit

                   Email and announcement 2 weeks prior to partial credit

 

Finance – Treasurer’s Report – Rob Day

            $26K in Checking

            $18K in PayPal

            $6K in accounts receivables

            This year’s campouts are running a profit

 

Honor Programs

            O/A – Rob Baker

                   Renewed discussion around C-team costume funding needs

                   Committee voted on 2 motions

                               To fund yearly costume needs by tacking on an additional surcharge to OA membership

                                           Vote failed

                               To fund up to $430 for additional costuming not to include a headdress

                                           Vote passed

                   Doug Cochran to lead committee to explore additional sources of costuming funding

                   Baker working on re-charter – still looking for a committee chair, secretary and treasurer

                   Some carryover discussion about need to separate Venture Crew/High Adventure/OA funding from regular troop funding

 

High Adventure – Howard Berkowitz / Ron Wood

            HOAC has 4 crews going to the Summit in West Virginia this summer

                   New High adventure camp

                   Home of 2013 Jamboree

                   Seeking 9 scouts and 1 adult from T10 who like to attend this summer’s shake down

            Boundary Waters trip on track

 

Community Service Projects - Virgil Villarreal – no report

 

Adult Training – Scott Bower – all adults have been contacted that require training

 

New Business/Open Discussion – All

            Task force of 4 people to address the structure and content of troop meetings

                   Barbara Koziol, Charlie Loudon, Mark Bagby and Jim O’Hara

                   Task Force’s recommendation is to extend meetings 15 minutes

                   Will take up with PLC to determine their support

            Advancement Policy Task force Update – Shropshire

                   Committee reviewed proposed changes to Troop’s Advancement Policy

                   Committee voted to adopt proposed changes and implement with 2012 leadership period.
