Scoutmaster/SPL Update – Garrett Shropshire/Eric Garcia

            Landahl Park campout went well

                        – How do we better manage the gear packout at campouts

                        – Will discuss Snow Creek 12/10 at PLC (will be a Sat/Sun campout format)

                        – Will discuss Fire and Ice at PLC as well                      

                        – Improvement in scout demeanor and behavior since the summer break.

 

MB Forum – James Duncan - Plan to receive confirmations approx. one week prior

                        – 115 scouts signed up so far

 

Outdoor Activities (Camping/Grubmaster) – Scott Brown/Chris Blackwood/Ken Green

            January – Snow Creek – Jan 19/20; arrive at 3, cook dinner, ski, sleep, quick breakfast; out early

            February – Fire & Ice – working on location; Mr. Spies’ or Blue/Gray

            March – Katy Trail – biking and camping merit badge qualifications

            April – OA – Camp Timberlake (179th/69 Hwy); suggested location option

 

Bartle Summer Camp - Ted Fuehr

            June 1st deadline for health forms

                        If not compliant, dropped from Bartle roster; to reestablish, pay the $25 late fee

           

Quartermaster Update – Chuck Gibson/ Jeromey Rutledge – No report

           

Membership – Craig Antonic / Becki Clary

            35 Webelos at Webelos Night (12 or so Webelos 1); like to get to 45-50

            Crossover season has begun – one 12/10

 

Eagle Court of Honor – Lisa Harrison

            Fall ECOH went well – very nice ceremony.

           

Finance – Treasurer’s Report – Rob Day

            Feast:               Generated a net +$640

            A/R Balance:     $9100

            Check Bal.:       $27000 (will come down with popcorn/greenery payments, stove purchase)

            Paypal Bal:       $6600

 

Fall Fund-raising Updates – No reports

            About 80 scouts have to renew/complete their scout skills certificates.

            ECOH complete.

            Assistant Scoutmaster and Scoutmaster training at upcoming merit badge forum

            Outdoor Leadership Training – January 15th 

            EDGE Leadership Training – upcoming

            Merit Badge Counselor Training – will be doing this training at upcoming meetings

 

Honor Camping Programs

            O/A – Rob Baker/Matt Roening

                        – Webelos Crossover Dates starting.  First scheduled Crossover is this coming Monday evening, December 10.  (Pack 3291 - 1 Webelo - Davis Miller)

– C-Team Rehearsal & Costuming Session scheduled over the holiday break. 

The C-Team is in search of qualified parent volunteer(s) for sewing and costume assistance.  Interested parties should contact either Rob Baker or Matt Roening. 

– OA Winter Banquet.  Scheduled January 12, 2013.  Registration announcement distributed to the troop.

                        – Campsite investigation for April Campout / OA Tapout.  A couple of options…         

            Mic-O-Say – Greg Spies / Jim Wasko – No report

  

New Business/Open Discussion

            Craig Antonic – Webelos Recruiting

                        Goal for next year – 45 Webelos.

                        Suggesting inviting Webelos to the Season launch picnic.

                        Suggesting an event with Webelos at the WWI Memorial.

                                    - meets requirements for Webelos (benefit for attending Den Leaders)

            Rob Day - 2013 Troop Fees – We are on solid financial footing and no financial reason to raise fees.

                        Vote to keep the fees the same – carried.

                       

            Bob Rohlf – ECOH Attendance Requirements

                        Should we require attendance at the Eagle Courts?

                        How do we best insure a strong turnout for the ECOH?

                        Have each Eagle candidate personally invite their color team.

           

Steve Rogers

                        Suggestions to improve the web site.

                                    Consolidate all services through one provider, such as Go Daddy.

                                    Suggest using Wordpress, the most common web authoring tool.

                                    Mobile capability needs to be enhanced.

                        Suggestion to organized a backpacking campout for summer for 2nd, 3rd year scouts.

                                    Committee approved the concept. More details to follow.
