Introductions & Opening Comments

John McCabe, Committee Chairman, called the meeting to order @ 6PM.

Leawood Lions – Chick Atwell – No report

 

Scoutmaster/SPL Update – Jim Cook / Nick Cook

Nick Cook – ASPLs have been chosen for the next 6 months

·        Contag, Baker, Garcia & McCarthy

All troop meetings thru Bartle summer camp have been planned by PLC

Tomorrow night’s meeting will have a First Aid theme

Jim Cook – very pleased with new scout leadership team

Met for several hours over the weekend to plan for the remainder of the semester

 

Outdoor Activities (Camping/Grubmaster) – Scott Brown/Chris Pfeiffer

March Campout

Tracy Thomas to secure trailer to haul bikes for campout

Similar agenda to last year’s campout

 

OA Tap-out – still need camp flier on website

Canoe Campout – ditto above

Still need a location – some discussion regarding 2 Sons site last year and the motor cross traffic and noise

associated with site – committee would prefer a different location this year   

           

Mustang Campout – planned at Spies’ farm – need flier

 

 

Bartle Update – Otis Miller

Leadership team chosen – having meeting short meeting after committee meeting

Still need busses ordered – Todd Martz to handle

 

 

Equipment Coordinator – Chuck Gibson

Tent inventory will be needed at an upcoming meeting

 

 

Membership – Renee Andrews

39 Webelos are crossing over into the troop this year.

 

 

New Parent Orientation – Jeff Muchow

New parent orientation meeting set for Monday night

Additionally – New parent mentoring program also to begin

 

 

Advancement – Julia Day

Many merit badge cards are trickling in from Merit Badge forums

Some discussion on the need for scouts providing leadership and time to Eagle Core need to have their

attendance verified for troop records

 

 

Eagle Candidates – Tracy Thomas

4 confirmed candidates for April court

1 more likely with the possibility of 3 more

 

 

Scout Leadership – Bob Rohlf

Thanks to all who made JLT session a success

103 scouts in leadership positions

 

 

Finance - Treasurer’s Report – John Martin

Troop has $30K in checking account w/ another $22K in PayPal and AR at $19K

Big Bartle payment due this month and Philmont payment also to come

 

 

Honor Programs

O/A – Rob Baker

C-Team – 5 crossovers performed w/ 2 additional ones scheduled

O/A elections in 1 month – announcement at next troop meeting

Adult elections 3/6 committee meeting

Invite troop 11 to OA tapout

Continue to remind scouts of leadership requirements for MOS
