Introductions & Opening Comments – John McCabe

·         Welcome and introductions

·         Looking for the following adult volunteers:

o    Quartermaster – Chuck Gibson desires to transition out

o    Adult Recognition Coordinator

o    Prairie Star Elementary Unit Commissioner,

o    Co-Grubmaster – Chris Pfeffer needs campout cooking leader to lead cooking during campouts

 

 

Leawood Lions – No report

 

 

Scoutmaster/SPL Update

·         Garrett Shropshire

o    New leadership elections were held last Monday night

§  A number of den chiefs were elected to other positions

§  Need to sort out – den chiefs are an important position to recruit new members to the troop

o    There are a # of scouts who need to achieve rank advancement to be eligible for O/A or Mic-O-Say advancement

·         Brian McCarthy – 1st Committee Meeting

o    1st PLC tomorrow night

 

 

Outdoor Activities (Camping/Grubmaster) – Scott Brown/Chris Pfeffer

·         January Campout – Snow Creek – Feedback

o    Stephan Nugent broke his collar bone on the hill

o    When this occurred health forms were up in the truck 1/10th of a mile away

o    Need to update procedures to have health forms accessible to medical staff when a scout is injured

o    Dan Nugent & Chris Pfeffer to work on new process and submit for approval at March committee meeting

 

·         February Campout – Omaha Zoo

o    Enough scouts/adults attending for 2 buses

o    2 merit badges to be taught on the trip

·         March Campout – O/A Tapout – committee agreed to move date to March 23, 24 & 25

·         April Campout – Katy Trail – set for 2nd weekend in April 13, 14 & 15

 

 

Bartle Update – Tracy Thomas

·         Bartle leadership team in place

·         Leader meeting took place at Snow Creek

·         30 days – Bartle book will be ready

·         Tracy & Ted Fuehr to attend leaders meeting in March

·         4/2 sign-up is quickly approaching

 

Equipment Coordinator – Chuck Gibson – no report

 

 

Membership – Renee Andrews

·         7 new scouts set to register

·         Estimate a total of 25 mustangs

 

 

Scout Leadership – Bob Rohlf

·         Updated leadership cards are now available

·         Changes will be reviewed w/ scouts at JLT

·         New leadership certificates process will also be reviewed

·         Bob will email scouts when existing leadership certificates expire

 

 

Advancement – Julia Day

·      4 scouts approaching their 18th birthday

·      Scouts discussed and different committee members volunteered to work with each

 

 

Life to Eagle – Lane Christenson

·         5 scouts went thru roundtable last Thursday – they’re ready for their eagle BOR 2/16

·         Estimate 7 scouts for the April ECOH

 

 

Finance – Treasurer’s Report – Rob Day

·            AR = $32,700

·            Checking Account =  37,500

·            Pay Pal = $12,500

·            Total = $82,700

Honor Programs

                 C-Team has 6 crossovers scheduled this month involving 24 new mustangs

·         February – training for boundary waters trip begins

·         March – shooting event @ Camp Naish

 

 

High Adventure – Howard Berkowitz

·      Need adults to be trained in: Wilderness Survival, 1st Aid, CPR, Swimming, Safety Afloat, Hazardous Weather

·         Eagle Corps Attendance requirements discussed – Jim Shetlar to share w/ Eagle Corps Eagle Scouts

·         James Duncan coordinated recent Merit Badge Forum

o    99 troop scouts earned 171 merit badges
