Introductions & Opening Comments - Jeff Muchow, filling in for Blake Williams, called the meeting to order @ 7pm

A.      Welcome and introductions

B.     District Awards:

1.      Congratulations to Scoutmaster of the Year, Greg Spies,

2.      Eagle Advisor of the Year, Tracy Thomas

3.      Dinner on Jan 23rd, reservations made through Troop

C.     Looking for the following adult volunteers:  Adult Recognition Coordinator

 

II.       District Merit badge forum yesterday at Church of the Resurrection

A.      53 T10 scouts attended

B.     Todd Martz & Jeff Muchow led fingerprinting merit badge

 

III.      Leawood Lions - Gary Flick

A.      Report

1.                  Gary gave Steve Cargin’s eagle scout certificate from the Lions to a T10 committee member

2.      $34,500 raised by Lions bell ringers for Salvation Army this year.

3.      T10 raised $2,095.87  - 9 scouts & Parents with over 20 hours of community service

 

IV.    Scoutmaster Update - Greg Spies

A.      Report

1.      A new scout will join us tomorrow night

2.      Mustang meeting Jan. 25th - 3 weeks – will need projector/script/etc – Jan. 25th

3.      SPL elections 2/1

4.      Next Bartle payment 2/8

B.     Senior Patrol Leader - Brian Leeper

1.                  Tomorrow night, January 11, meeting will focus on meal plans & cold weather camping presentation

V.      Outdoor Activities

A.      (Camping/Grubmaster) - Scott Brown/Brian Leeper/David Corley

1.      January 22-23, Ski Campout, Snow Creek

a)      Scott Brown will be absent – he needs a volunteer to assist w/ ski lift tickets pickup and distribution

b)      Also will need someone to assist procuring water for Saturday morning breakfast.

 

2.      February 20-21, Fire & Ice, Spies Farm

a)      Lower campsite will be utilized @ Spies farm due to cold weather conditions

b)      Scouts to unveil new cooking plan at this campout

 

3.      March 26-28, Bike Campout, Katy Trail

a)      Decision still needs to be made regarding location at next PLC.

4.      April 16-18, Fishing/OA Tap-Out, Illig Farm

5.      May 7-9, Canoe Campout

a)      Location needs to be determined at upcoming PLC

(1)   Elk or Indian rivers?

VI.    High Adventure – Quinten Cokinton

A.      Rocky Mountain trip planned July 18 – 24 2010

B.     T10 awarded 3 crews for Philmont July 2 to 14, 2011

C.     Blackbeard’s Diving – July 2010  Rob Davis – still have slots open – will happen but may be filled but with retired T10 members

D.     Jeff Muchow offered the chance for troop to go up to western South Dakota for a round-up – Jeff will get details for the committee to consider

VII.   Equipment Coordinator - Chuck Gibson

A.      Update

1.      Tent inventory on 12/6 – 23 missing tents that we’ve seen in the last 3 years.

a)      52 tents out; 3 locker – 7 in truck – 62 total

b)      Tent transfer to be held the night of troop elections along w/ campboxes

c)      Ted Feuhr suggested an outer bag to ferry wet tents home from campouts.  Est. $5 to 6 per bag. Chuck to investigate further and get sample

2.      Truck’s tags are up for renewal – property tax has already been paid.

 

VIII. Membership - Todd Martz

A.      Recruiting update

1.      21 mustangs in 2010 class confirmed with + another 16 to 20 for a total near 40

2.      Webloes visit night January 25th

 

Meeting adjourned the meeting at 8:30 p.m.
