Blake Williams called the meeting to order at 5:00pm

Introductions & Opening Comments – Blake Williams

1.   Welcome and introductions

2    Troop has 2 new Mic-O-Say Warriors – Evan Key & Griffin McCabe – both on staff @ Bartle were elevated to Warrior last Thursday.

3    Dellinger & Archer attended District Roundtable

4.   Adult leader position update; immediate needs to train new leaders:

·       Grubmaster, OA Advisor, Highway Clean-up Coordinator, Friends of Scouting Coordinator, Neckerchief

Scoutmaster Update – Greg Spies

1.       Report – Spies deferred to Will Fuehr

2.       Senior Patrol Leader – Will Fuehr

a.       Canoe Campout – successful – excellent turnout; excellent weather

b.       1st year campout went well and mustangs got all activities needed accomplished

                                                     i.      All but 3 1st year scouts attended

c.       Bartle Plan – Meet w/ SPLS at Bartle and develop plan for camp.

Outdoor Activities – Tom Baker

1.       9 scouts got certified w/ CPR + 7 adults at recent CPR training program developed by Baker – comments from instructor were very positive about scout’s attentiveness and desire to learn.

2.       High Adventure – Quintin Cokingtin

a.       1 cancellation in 1st crew – July 13 to 19th

b.       Prepatory training continues

 Equipment Coordinator – Chuck Gibson

1.       Locker cleaning went well and fast – done by 12 versus 2PM last year

2.       66 complete tents in locker – missing 6 from this year

3.       11 tents from previous year still missing

4.       Meeting scheduled at Bartle to develop long term strategy

a.       Strategy will determine if we charge scouts

b.       50 dragon

c.       62 Raptors

d.       114 Badger

e.       58 Frontiersman

f.         6 & 12 from Venture Patrol

Bartle 2008 – Bob Key

1.       Troop 10 will have a wireless LAN available to create a wi-fi network

2.       Key & McCabe visited Bartle on Sunday

a.       Many platforms still need canvas

b.       Scout from Troop currently at Seneca was bit by a copperhead snake

c.       Day Zero crew set

d.       We may have a pod zero – next to whispering circle

e.       Need to prepare for a lot of rain – currently have 48 tarps earmarked for brave/warrior nights out

f.         Lone Bear not ready – trying to get ready for 1st session warrior

g.       If Lone Bear not ready – Lone Star general to be used

h.       Shopping on Saturday – Day zero minus one

Advancement – Brent Reynolds

1                  Scout thru Life – Brent Reynolds/Doug Ball

2                  Eagle Candidates – Tracy Thomas – upwards of 18 scouts could be eligible for eagle next school year - Consider doing a third COH if number of Eagle candidates is too large.

a.      Thomas recruited 4 mentors for scouts needing push to get to eagle.

 Finance – Kevin O’Farrell

1.       Treasurer’s report

a.       $32,000 on balance

b.       80+ scouts on tardy list

 Community Service Projects – John Ahart

1.       Delano School, Troop 12, Mini-Camp July 7th.

a.       List of activities shaping up

b.       Need adult for Dutch Oven Dessets and skits

                                                                 i.      19 scouts + 7 adults signed up

                                                                ii.      15 boys + 5 wheel chaired scouts signed up.

                                                              iii.      $300 for 50 T-Shirts

                                                               iv.      Could use a couple more adult drivers

New Business/Open Discussion – All – No new business was initiated

Committee took a brea

Mic-O-Say Discussions/votes were led by Greg Spies/Bob Tenny/Jim Wasko/Rusty Howell

After Mic-0-Say votes, Blake Williams adjourned the meeting
