Mike Coffey called the meeting to order at 6:00pm

Greg Spies – Mustang overnight – 19 scouts – they did well on food preparation – Environmental Science Merit Badge pre-work was done – the boys had fun,  6 older scouts came to help.

Bartle Committee update – continue to meet – things are coming together – part of our Ranger program request was denied – we got most of the water activities our scouts requested -–they are working on tent assignments and duty rosters – 84 scouts are registered – 35 full time dad slots combining full and part time dads – we have about 20 scouts less than usual at Bartle because of family July 4th holidays – daily Bartle schedules for scouts and Mic-o-say are posted on the website

Herb Strain– reported that we lost some equipment to wind damage at the American Cancer Society Event – we will be able to replace and improve on what we had

Tribal Feast – 4 adults and 2 scouts attended – beautiful ceremony – Cliff Illig was elected to presiding Chieftain

Greg Kent – expects 6-8 Eagles at the next Court of Honor – probably in late October – cutoff will probably be in late August – he is requesting people to grade Eagle projects – some training will be needed

Greg Kent – is needing volunteers on 6/21/01 for an Eagle Board of Review

Mike Towell – Treasury update – reviewed account balances – concern about scouts who owe money for activities they took part in but are not currently attending meetings or activities – these people will be approached and asked to pay what they owe

Ed O’Conner – reported that we need new tires on our troop truck – Allen Schoof will look into this – we will also get estimates to tighten up the suspension

Herb Strain – reported that people will meet next Saturday to work on the lockers, to wash and clean all equipment and the truck – we will take an inventory of what things we need – Greg Spies has already removed truck shelves – a group will go to Bartle on 6/30 to help set up tents and awnings – also the rental truck will be loaded then

Greg Spies – we have 50 tents – 15 need repair or replacement – a few more will need to be purchased – some tables will need to be replaced too – patrol boxes are still with the patrols – some patrols still have their propane stoves and some have been turned in – we discussed how to make scouts and patrols financially accountable for their equipment especially tents which are very expensive

Mike Coffey – reviewed adult leadership positions that still need to be filled for the next year

Herb Strain – discussed the concern some scouts had about dads sleeping in cars and campers, rather than tents on campouts – Mike Coffey will send a letter to dads to encourage them to sleep in tents

Rusty Howell – feels the annual canoe trip needs to be scheduled for two nights rather than one this next year

There was discussion about standardizing Boards of Review – Rick Isham has already been working on this – there will be discussion and training for dads on this by our troop at Bartle

Larry Stocker – signed our troop up for a community service project in October involving painting a house – 20 scouts and 10 dads will be needed

The meeting was ended at 8:00 p.m.

                                                               Respectfully submitted

                                                               Lawrence P. Lehman
