Introductions & Opening Comments – Blake Williams

  1. Welcome and introductions

Thanks to Dave Contag and Rob Wheeler for OA campout.  Adult leader position update; immediate needs to train new leaders:

·         Grubmaster, OA Advisor, Highway Clean-up Coordinator, Friends of Scouting Coordinator, Neckerchief

Looking for a new Grubmaster.  Also looking for a new OA advisor, Highway and Neckerchief coordinator.  Kevin suggested outsourcing.

 

 

Scoutmaster Update – Greg Spies

  1. Report  - Safety afloat demonstration on Monday night.  Patrol breakout after the canoe campout.  Movie on Friday night.  Bob will get the movie.
  2. Senior Patrol Leader – Will Fuehr  - Everyone will float.  Basketball after the float.  No swimming in the river.

 

Outdoor Activities – Tom Baker

  1. May 16-18, Canoe, Gasconade River   Two weeks away on the Gasconade river.  Rivers are up so we need to be extra careful.  Two floats – 6 miles 4 hours and 10 miles 6 hours.  Upstream and float back to the campsite.  Fishing – Bass must be thrown back in.  Question about safety from Newstrom – 1 trained adult per 10 days.  We will break camp at 9am.  Saturday night service.  Tents will be turned in on Monday night and the truck will be there to load them.  Key will drive the truck.
  2. May 30-Jun 1, First Year Campout, Spies farm – Rainfest will be off 195th
  3. High Adventure – Quintin Cokingtin  High Adventure Colorado - 35 attending  Everyone is doing 1 hour of aerobics’ every morning…. Sure.

 

Grubmaster Report – John McCabe

  1. Campout report Bob will bring the telescope.  Steaks and Potatoes
  2. May campout plan 3 meals for each scout.

 

Equipment Coordinator – Chuck Gibson

  1. Report – Goal is to get tents in.  Tents will be on the truck for the 1st year overnight.  Need adults to help with the locker cleanout on June 7th

 

Bartle 2008 – Bob Key

  1. Update
  2. Costs for adults attending without children/grandchildren (campers or staff)  No  

A motion was made by Bob Key to reduce the fees to $200.  Motion was not seconded.

Crew 2010 Update – Scott Weaver 

The Scouts will be camping outside the area or the Troop 10 scouts.  Who tracks the awards for Venture Crew.  2010 is a separate charter. 

 

Advancement – Brent Reynolds

  1. Scout thru Life – Brent Reynolds/Doug Ball

Next 2 weeks will be busy.  May 12th is the cutoff.  We will buy extra badges for the court of Honor and we need adults for Board of Reviews. 

  1. Eagle Candidates – Tracy Thomas

Thank you to Chuck Luchen, Tim Novickas and Jeff Floatman for a great job on the Eagle Court.  Gibson will get his Eagle board on Thursday May 15th. 

Finance – Kevin O’Farrell

  1. Treasurer’s report  -  Pay your bills,  All bills must be paid before Bartle.
  2. Fundraising – Barbara Cusick

 

Membership – Donna Wilson

  1. Recruiting update  -  Missing 3 applications of those that crossed over.

 

Honor Programs

  1. O/A  – David Contag  32 youth ordeal completed and 5 adults.  16th is the next OA induction.  18 Scouts and 3 Adults got Brotherhood.  Good volunteering from the scouts.  Chris Ottinger has volunteered to be O/A coordinator.  Greg Goheen is also interested as a O/A assistant coordinator.  Costs, $400 in late fees because we did not pay on time.

a.     May 2-4, Spring Induction Weekend report

  1. Mic-O-Say – Bob Tenny/Jim Wasko/Rusty Howell

Voting next month at 5pm committee meeting. 

 

Community Service Projects – Deb Dellinger – not present

 

            Delano School, Troop 12, Mini-Camp – John will head this up.  Week after July 4th is the target date.

 

Adult Training Update – Scott Bower

  1. Scoutmaster/Asst. SM Job Specific at Bartle. 

 Trailhead District Round Table Information – Blake Williams 

New rank advancement on Bullying for 2nd Class.  Proper flag ceremony will be held at the next round table.

 

New Business/Open Discussion – All

 

3 first year scouts not signed up for Bartle.

 

  

Blake Williams adjourned the meeting at 7:14 p.m.
