campout. Eat on the way there - four hours
of driving to get there; camping at Harvey Young’s State River Park. We have to be at Cosmosphere at 7:45am with
merit badge cards in hand. The troop
will serve a cold breakfast – no fires are allowed. We are not taking the truck.
Greg will be taking coolers, lanterns, etc. If scouts do not register by November 5th they will
not be able to go. Planetarium, rocket
building, lunch. We are coming home Saturday
evening for the Eagle Court of Honor on Sunday, November 11th.
Greg Spies: Bartle
will be 4th session 7/10 – 17/9.
Seneca campsite. Saturday will
be visitors day. The details are on the
website. Cost to scouts and dads have
not been determined yet. A bus will be transportation
to camp.
Mike Coffey: Philmont
phone call was a bust. Ten leaders were
there to call. We were not able to get
through. We do not have a reservation
for 2003 but are on a waiting list.
Cary Dikeman: We have a reservation at Quetico June
1st through June 12th beginning first weekend after
school is out. Because of portaging,
size will be a factor. (9 days on the
water)
Gary
Bernhardt: March, 2003 – a trip to
Honduras is planned.
Stu
Sharp: Looking at Packard style trip from July 27th to
August 4th. Would include
Sand Dunes, rafting, climbing, Air Force Academy visit and much more.
Felt
we need to discuss age issues on the various trips.
Considering
offering scuba and horse packing trips in 2003.
Bill
Drees: On Packard style trip – Would like scouts to have
completed 7th grade or be age thirteen.
Stu Sharp: Would
like the same to apply to Quetico.
Joe
Johnson: Eagle Court of Honor –
November 11th at 2:00 p.m.
Greg Kent: Reported
on prospective Eagles. Next Court of
Honor will be April 28th.
Herb
Strain: Roundtable
was Basic Leader Training. Will only send
Troopmaster files on the website. He
will not send reminders – he updates it every Tuesday. Leaders must get the address from Herb to be
able to download the new data. There is
also a new patch.
Greg
Spies: Needs
to spend some money for equipment (tables for patrols.)
Mike
Coffey: Greenery
sales are being tallied order will be sent in.
The greenery will be delivered to Stu’s barn to then be picked up by
scouts to be delivered.
Bill
Brady: Treasurer report: No current concerns.
Mike
Coffey: Discussed
group who volunteered last month get together to discuss new troop shirt. Interest was there for a short sleeve, red
polo shirt and a long sleeve button down.
Larry
Lehman: Jr. Leadership Training –
December 12th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.. Leaders will be involved too.

Leawood
Rotary Club agreed to sponsor our troop.
This will be official in March, 2002.
Would
like parents who go on High Adventure trips to be registered and trained.
Greg
Spies: Suggested
we invite Webelos to a campout who could not come to Camporee.
Gary
Bernhardt: Will send a letter to
Webelos group inviting them to troop function when a date is determined.
