C. Chuck Gibson has expressed a desire to transition out of his current role as Quartermaster

Scoutmaster/SPL Update

          Continued need for improved order at the meetings

          PLC would like to institute new policies to enforce good behavior – no credit for attendance

          Group feedback – what are we trying to accomplish?

          Enforcement could be erratic

Outdoor Activities (Camping/Grubmaster) – Scott Brown/Chris Pfeiffer

          November Campout – Feast – Update

                      Feast campout – patrols to make side dishes for the feast meal

                      Facilities are secured

                      Not a lot of signups so far; expect to see more at Monday’s meeting

                      Thus far, approx. 7 Webelos plus 4 adults signed up (planning for 20) + 25 more

                      Need to make an announcement that we need to know who’s coming and charge for them

                      Spouse – $15 ;   Siblings – $15

                      Make a note at Troop meeting and via email

                      Pavilion – 100’ x 50’ ; tables ; lights; bathrooms winterized; water available; port-a-johns;

                      AC power; Close to Cubworld parking lot; open pavilion on a hill – exposed to weather

                      Need to pack a tall ladder for lashing tarps to pillars for walls

                      Menu – turducken; turkey; roast pig? pheasant/duck/goose? stuffing; veggies; wild rice; salad

                      Open camping area just beyond shelter for camping

 

          December Campout – Landau Park

                      Planning for this at next PLC

 

          January Campout – Snow Creek

                      Prices unchanged

                      Will be offering skiing merit badge again this year

 

          February Campout – Omaha Zoo

                      Bruce Hertzfield working on this

                      Cook an afternoon meal

                      Check into zoo 6:45 Saturday; move vehicles onto property

                      Sack lunch Saturday night?

                      Hike around zoo

                      Then, zoo activities

                      Lights out midnight

                      6:00 a.m. up and hike around until 9:30

                      Zoo opens to public at 10 a.m. Sunday morning

                      Possibly move to weekend of 18th/19th

          Lots of scouts who need to make 2nd class; 1st class; etc.

          36 still need to work their way through 1st class

          Couple of scouts made their first pass through Eagle board

          16 scouts participated;  $5080 raised; troop gets 32%

          popcorn pickup Friday at 5; distribute Sunday

          Our troop supports 5 scouts as Eagle Corps – let’s thank those scouts for their contribution.
