Scoutmaster
update: we are getting our program set for the Camporee Webelos were at the
troop meeting last week Col. Thorness meeting was a good one for our scouts
Troop 3385 has asked for our assistance at their family picnic and we have 3
scouts and one leader who will attend

Roberson we will schedule the new Eagles into a Rotary Club meeting when
their status is official

discussion of selecting a new scoutmaster Terry Ellis wants the committee
to be involved a discussion followed and preferences were noted by ballot
Noted that
there are 8 candidates for the next ECOH 4 still have to complete their Eagle
boards adults are needed to be advocates and to sit on the boards both at 7
PM and 8 PM on 10/21 one scout is getting close to age 18 and is needing to
complete requirements for Eagle

Vogliardo had 1st meeting for parents for upcoming ECOH it will
be at BV North

DAdamo Treasurer Report: $3000 of $5000 owed from scouts is from last year
these scouts are still mostly in the troop

Fundraising: Alan Myers sent out greenery packets last week

Wheeler Section Conclave was very good great experience for the 3 adults
and 2 scouts who went next year it will be in Wichita and in 2006 it will be hosted
by Tamagonit there were 48 people from HOAC there there were a lot of
programs that were optional, great food and it was a relaxing time it counted
as a campout there were no work activities or ceremonies the rules were
very friendly and laid back they got to see the patches and customs of the other
troops it was totally scout led officers were elected for the section while
there.

Wheeler has been looking into troop specific recognitions that might spark
our scouts interest in OA consideration of awarding the Legends Strip for
major participation in our Ceremony Team was discussed and how to promote this
idea with the scouts

MicOSay and OA meeting with scouts at the last campout went well
expectations were discussed it will be done again at November campout
Rick Isham
Shooters Safety Campout well received changes from previous year were
well received by the boys Paul Bertrand was thanked for the planning he did

Camporee firm #s from 5 of 7 Packs we have invited for a total of 72
Webelos and 64 adults we are still waiting for #s from the other packs a
menu has been put together to cook for 250-300 people we will also have a
cracker barrel for 400 people the observatory will be open- $2 suggested
donation no Haunted Forest we will have a time to talk with guests about
Troop 10

needs a volunteer to drive the troop truck to the camporee

Feast campout Camp Ernst we have possibility of
having a climbing and rappelling event at Ironwoods Challenge Course for 18-20
scouts cost is $30 it will last 5 hours this will count towards part of
the climbing merit badge sign up will be on the campout sign up - there will
be other activities for scouts

Strain Bartle 05 we will be getting our dates for this at a meeting on
10/21 there was a discussion of which sessions to request in which order

Wells- High Adventure Cat Ppalu Cruise to the Northern Exuma Islands near
Nassau we have a boat for 2 weeks so we will go in 2 groups of 12 cost is
$1048 6/6 and 6/13 are current starting dates a deposit for each week is
needed soon we will look into late July as a possible date

from Philmont if we sent crews to Northern Tier this year we will be
guaranteed Philmont crews in 2007 space is reserved for 2 crews beginning
6/27 for a 7 day trip from Idecochen discussed
possibly signing up for Cavalcade

Strain discussed our current request for crews for Philmont which will happen
in 2 weeks

Anniversary of Scouting in the World in 2007 in Essex, England

equipment we are going to buy 10 more white tables
- we still
need a truck an 8 bay beverage truck would be optimal 2nd choice
would be a taller delivery truck
- we have replaced
a lot of pans and implements
- patrol
box inspections to begin at this campout
- we may
need to buy more tents

Gibson- needs a source for a turn signal light for the current truck if current
one cannot be located

Roundtable no Klondike this year on 1/14 1/16 is Rendezvous near
Newton, Ks it is well organized and a lot of fun it is what old time
trappers did we will discuss this further next month
HOAC
annual business meeting on 11/17- Silver Beaver awards given then- it is on
1/29 and costs $20
District
Recognition Dinner - 12/2 is deadline
to turn in recommendations for awards forms are on the website it should go
thru Terry Ellis

Haner we got $250 from Woerpel family to be used in an award for a scout we
will need
further discussion about this

Strain Haunted House Muchow family is coordinating this for 10/28
Roger
Eaton- made a video of Medal of Honor presentation and has this available for viewing. County and state fairs have a boy scout
category and one of our scouts won it this year
Steve
Ornduff went to Venture Leader Training doing this is more involved than we
have done it in the past for youth ages 14- 20 - it could dilute older
leadership in our troop suggested we consider a venture patrol as a possible
alternative plans to meet with Marc Elkins to further discuss
