D’Adamo – Treasurer report – scouts owe about $4000 – bank balance is good
Brent Reynolds
– Court of Honor in 2 weeks
Tom Wineland
– would like to involve Eagles on Boards of Review – the committee approved as
long as those scouts were given some training in what to do
Clarence Krantz
– 9 possible new Eagles for November Court – 3 have completed all requirements
– the rest are in process – needs adults to sit on boards on 9/16 – a few
scouts are running out of time, age-wise, to make it to Eagle – Bill Haner will
talk to these scouts
Bill Haner
– Scoutmaster report – campout planning done at last troop meeting – next
meeting will be a discussion of shooter safety – new SPL is doing a good job
Rob Wheeler
– OA – needs an OA youth representative -
it is a position that counts toward rank advancement and we can have
more than one – nobody form our troop went to Fall Fellowship – Section
Conclave is in Oct and will be a very good camping experience
Herb Strain
– asked people to bring a stapler and staples, hard chairs and another gator to
the Sept campout

– Camporee – they are looking for adults and older scouts to help in several
areas – it will be based on Lewis and Clark, so things that we make will have
to be done in that style – we will have 8 packs of Webelos visiting us –
Webelos will likely visit a November troop meeting

– Rick Korvic will shadow Rusty to become the new grubmaster
Bill Haner
– our troop will do a potato event at the Camporee
Herb Strain
– discussed how much to charge for the camporee – he will have a flyer to
distribute to include cost and other particulars at the next troop meeting

Terry Ellis – 04-05 High Adventure plans – (report from Bryce Wells) Chip will handle the National Jamboree- we will do a Blackbeard type trip and we need an adult to coordinate this – we will also do either a high country horseback trip or a white water trip – Bryce is also looking at the Philmont 06 lottery
Greg Spies
– equipment coordinator – would like to borrow a GPS for setting up an
orienteering course for the next campout – we bought 6 new tents and some
cookbox equipment and it was distributed – 2 patrol quartermasters did not show
up to help with locker inventory – Jeff Mallin will be making more tent stakes
for our large tarps – hasn’t heard back about possible new truck yet

– we need a volunteer to drive troop truck to September campout
Stu Sharp –
has a stainless steel bowl that was left at the picnic – discussed the Mark
Elkins Troop 10 Philmont Staff Scholarship for Eagle Scouts from HOAC, BSA – it
is to be used for supplemental and educational purposes – the goal will be to
fund 2 scholarships in the next year
Stu Sharp –
to be honored with his wife by the Kemper Foundation as the Leawood citizens of
the year with a lunch on Wednesday – any donations will go to the above
scholarship
Mark McCarthy
– has possible volunteer activity for us to move mulch at Gillis Home on 10/2 –
Highway cleanup will be earlier that day
Greg Spies
– on Friday of September campout there will be a campfire for Micosay and OA
members
Herb Strain
– we need an adult to volunteer to lead and coordinate the 10/28 annual
Halloween event at haunted houses
Greg Bernhardt
– Gary Bernhardt will complete the Emergency Preparedness merit badge at 6 PM
and next troop meeting
William Easley
– Colonel Thorness event on 10/6
Terry Ellis
– would like anyone interested in becoming Scoutmaster to speak with him
Herb Strain – 9/18 is Trailhead
Scoutmaster training – Northern Tier will be offering this on Tuesday evenings
starting 9/14.
